Engine Checklight

I need help with my 2.4 D 2 LTE 1991 Surf. Recently the engine check light has been coming on after travelling a couple of km down the road. The green turbo light goes out and the check light stays on. Sometimes at about 2400 rpm the check light goes out and the green turbo light comes back on but it is intermittent.
Can anyone tell me what to do to sort this problem out. I have attached a gauge and there is plenty of boost pressure in each gear. I think it does run better without the check light coming on.
