I swear sound systems just aim to piss me off. The only car's sound system that didn't fuck up was my $500 falcon's system which was a quick fit with no solder of anything.
Anyway long story short, I have a Soundstream flip-up HU, which runs my front 4" speakers. That all works fine. In my boot I have a 4x110w Alpine amp running my two rear speakers and a 500w alpine monoblock running my type R sub. I went around a corner last night and my rear speakers and sub cut out, my first thought was what happened a few weeks ago, the remote wire, but thats all fine. Both amps are getting power, all wires are wired correctly and securely. Grounds are fine and everything.
I can occasionally get my RL speaker to work but it sounds like shit depending on how I connect the RCAs.
Any idea what can cause this? I've checked the fuses on the amps, I've checked the RCA cables and they're getting power behind the HU so they're in working order...
FUCK i hate this shit. Please, any ideas? Or a website that I can go to, to find answers?
Thanks

On the hunt for...
25 April 2011 - 06:07 PM
At around 5:15pm today, a falcon decided to tear up the lane next to me, swing in behind me infront of an F250 (god knows why) I literally coul not see anything but his face in my mirror, he was THAT close. I thought fuck him, and took my foot off the accelerator. Unfortunately not fast enough, as he shot between me and the truck, pulled infront of me and giving me only a meter's gap, slams on the breaks. Somehow i managed to NOT hit him, with my wheels locking and smoke going everywhere.
He then pulled off and stopped, as if he wanted to talk or something but gave me the finger and looked PISSED as I turned onto the freeway.
Ok so here's the specs, this was turning onto Yellowstone (road?) just before the burns beach road entrance to the fwy. So I've narrowed it down. It was a Silver BA FPV. 04-06. May have had the orange stripes, i only really saw the front and back. MY guess is it was a GT-P, judging by the badge on the back which I saw. But I do remember it being red in colour, which the GT-p are not. but the GT-P spoiler is the exact same as the one I saw...same front end too so yeah.
Also, custom numberplate black bg with white txt. Starts with 'nev and I believe goes on to say something like nevagts or nevergts something like that. Late 30's/Mid 40's driver.
Any ideas who this idiot is?

Lets see, I have a pair of rather old but half decent speakers from the soarer, 6.5" for $5
A pair of Alpine Type-R 6x9's I believe they're 100wrms.
A pair of Pioneer 5-way 110wrms 6x9's.
Both pair's of 6x9's are very good speakers, still work perfectly.
Also have a Pioneer 4x60w Amp.
Got a shitty clarion amp to throw in with the first sale too.
Give us a pm with any offers

Hi all,
Looking at getting this Soarer
Only thing i'm worried about is the kms. Though I do work for a mechanic/auto sparky so could get things fixed easily/cheaply.
Anything I should know about Soarers?
Cheers

Advice on buying new car

Turns out there's more problems with my starlet than first thought!
These are the current quotes I have from the mechanic near me who's generally pretty good with prices, will go looking after I post this.
My radiator is shot, will cost $750 to replace, flush system etc.
Shocks are fucked, anywhere from $500-800
Brakes will need changing soon, as will the timing belt.
Not sure if the shock would be the reason for my front left wheel sitting at a slightly off angle and causing uneven wear, so i'll stick with that would need the strut/brace replaced.
All this in mind, I've considered selling the old girl and picking up a 1991 2.2 Liberty. Apparently "meticulously looked after" as they all say, but looks in pretty good nick for 220,000kms. For 4,700. Obviously could talk them down a bit more, but what do you think? Do you think it's worth the repairs, or sell asis and pick up another car, such as the liberty? Is there anything I should look out for in this liberty?
Thanks for your help
