Yeah the dak dak noise shits me,
its caused by unequal length headers causing a pulsating noise.
But I picked up a set of equal length headers, so now it just screams like a conventional engine but up to 7500rpm.
so that got rid of that problem, now i just have no room when i change the oil filter :/ bottom of the engine haha

I love Dak Daks, I really do. And Callum's even more!!! Great work man, would love to watch it as you build it up.
As for the sound, I think thats half the reason I like it But oh well
Can you get oil filter relocation kits for them? Cos that'd make it a HELL of a lot easier!

Sure can.
At the moment I have a sandwich plate for the oil cooler there which has lowered the oil filter by 20mm.
Also found that a corolla filter is half the size of a Subaru one and fits perfectly.
So it's not too bad now

Converted to topmount intercooler, upped the boost. New splitter for scoop, removed oil cooler and catch can, sorted emissions out, hot dog in exhaust, and im currently making a monster of a turbo!

crossing 2 different types of IHI turbo, a vf-37 twinscroll which has a P25 exhaust housing with dual entrys and a VF-22 which has the largest comressor wheel that IHI makes.
Everyones getting 300hp atw out of vf34(p20 housing) on 18.5 psi, which has a slightly smaller compressor wheel than a 22.
So twinscroll version of a 22 should be awesome,
aiming for 330atw from 18psi, and slowly up the boost.
Current Turbo(37) is at its limits at 300.
