ok, took the 32 to work today, turns out i need all the heater hoses and radiator hoses replaced, along with a rocker cover gasket,
am i better off fixing that shit or just leave it in the shed till i save up enough coin to do the conversion?

Would be criminal to leave it in the shed dude! None of that stuff is expensive, just replace it all with cheap stuff

couple hundred in parts there easy if u buy from nissan
best advice, just stay rb20 if motor dies then look into it
a stock rb25 in a r32 will cost few k and a big headache/stuff around
few k spent on rb20 u already have will be chop a stock rb25.

But stock 25s are slow? I'd rather spend that money upgrading to something with a bit more torque, power and potential from the start. But what would I know, I'm a crazy cunt who wants an LS1 32
If you want to stay a mechanic, I'd advise again doing your heater hoses... Worst. Fucking. Job. EVER!! Seriously, I'd prefer to pull the engine out the sit there with a razor blade trying to cut off a hose I can't even see... Horrible job, absolutely aweful!! Haha

Yeh it's gonna be expensive getting Martin to do those hoses Tom... Lots of labour hours involved in that alone, let alone replacing your radiator, thermostat, finding out why it's SOO bloody rich, and the rest of the service.
Not saying don't do it, i definitely think you should give it to him. Just don't expect it to be cheap

yeah it'll be costly, maybe i'll fit the radiator, just get him to but the original one back in after a good clean, that'll save a bit, just get him to do the service and heater hoses.

That won't be any cheaper man lol, think about it. Might as well save the cost of cleaning out the old radiator and just get him to fit the new radiator as well, seeing as he will be replacing the hoses anyway. Rather than taking the time to clean out the radiator, he could use that time to install the new one. Won't be much difference in price.
If you were gonna do that then you might as well do it all yourself because it would mean having to stuff around with the thermostat and things again. He would have to just fill up the system with water again because using coolant would be a waste, then you would have to flush it all out before you take off the radiator and put coolant in, so that means taking off the thermostat again... Basically everything that we did last weekend except you wouldn't be installing the radiator hoses which would take 2 minutes.
Best to get him to do everything man.

Yeah, what Martin said. Shouldn't need to remove te thermostat again, though?? And you can catch the coolant and reusenot, but no point getting them to clean the old radiator. That'll require being taken out, sent to radiator place, cost of radiator clean, then refit. New radiator would be remove old radiator, fit new radiator. Piece of piss!

Well it shouldn't cost as much as you are prepared to pay, so that's the bright side. Depending on what is wrong with it, i would say it will probs be a good $500-$600... As a guess
