Yeh, look out for all the little extras you might have to buy as well... I wanted a Tomei fpr, then found you need to get adapters to make it fit, etc. Too much effort, stock regulator will do for me.

I just installed an adjustable Sard FPR into a member's car after his factory item left him with 5psi at the rail, and he scored it for $70 off eBay. Cheap enough.
I have a Malpassi rising rate and was told they were shit. Had no issues in 5 years.

yeah i heard of the malpassi rising rate looked into them yesterday bout the same price as the turbosmart ones, the ebay sard and tomei ones are tooo touch and go. so many fake ones out there.
with the fittings and that its piece of cake dude, just drive down to enzed i got the fittings etc for my oil feed no dramas. braided lines cost alot tho, can just run high pressure hose which they charge about $15 for 60cm (its a real in ur face blue colour tho)

i just bought some bosch 1000cc injectors 14mm, now deciding between a bmi fuel rail or that random blue 14mm rail on ebay

2LTR- were u running the adjustable fpr on the dyno day? me thinks thats how ur stock rb20 injectors got u nearly 300rwhp, that was a really good effort

Dont skimp on the fuel rail..

Read an artical about them a while ago. They say that some of them can flex under high stress. making the injecters come loose.

Once that happens Bye Bye to all that hard work you just done

Agreed. Anything to do with the fuel system spend the extra money. The chance of something going wrong is too high

Yeh pretty much my thinking, if I take the cheap way out of something then I make damn sure that I do a hell of a lot of research into it. And with some things I just won't take the cheap way out, ie. injectors/turbo. Research says there are plenty of cheaper options out there that could be good, but I will still pay extra for the piece of mind. And I'm beginning to grow an obsession with brand names :D

Not to say that Char has taken the cheap way out of anything... So far this build has fascinated me, can't wait to see the end product!

Yup, it's set for 40psi on low boost and I set it to 70 psi on high boost. The stock 20 injectors are good for up to 300hp though, but I'm unsure if that's fly hp, bhp, or rwhp.
She was pinging a bit on scream, but I wasn't phased if she went bang. I wanted a good number for the day even though my other injectors fucked out on me.
I still don't understand how three of them went at the same time *scratches head*.

You never ask that question Socs, cos he'll try adding it all up, have a heartattack and we'll never see it finished :(

yeah i stopped counting a while ago i have a book with about 20-30 pages filled in with different ideas, prices etc
id say when its bak on the road id be happy to see change from around 12k -in the engine bay.

im gonna finish painting and then start putting manifolds etc on drop her in take it to ovaboost bend over and tell them to finish it off.

i think only 'YOUR' rb20 injectors are good for 300rwhp!? and to think of all the guys buying gtr 440s that have goals for 250rwhp. stock rb25s will only give u 300-310 if u lucky

Are you using a 25 head with VCT? Apparently with VCT, cam gears are a waste of money, they provide no gain while giving you a pedantic idle and poor fuel economy.

most people run the exhaust side and not inlet side. but also my engine isnt a standard rb25..
fuel economy and idle dont really apply to a car with the amount of power im chassing + 1000cc injectors
im still undecided, leaning towards getting some tho as id rather buy them now than in 6months and have to take everything off again
found a place in the US that sell greddy ones for cheap but by the time they arrive cud be waiting another 4 weeks

in other news i bought my fuel rail and injectors n will go down see jordy today bout a turbosmart 800 fpr,

few set backs ie laziness has caused me to push ovaboost bak til this coming thursday.

just spent bout $100 on hose clamps, new nuts n bolts. also just bought new heater hoses -had to make custom ones, parts for my braided turbo lines, injector plugs, few other things i forget.

the powersteering pump needs to be modified to fit the 30 block. fpr, custom fuel rail n 1000cc injectors have all arrived. i still need to put the intake & ORC twin plate clutch on n drop it in.
waiting for my mate to get off his fat ass & come give me a hand. :ermm:

pretty happy with how things are looking

if i can get hold of a camera that isnt 1.3mp will put up pics tomoro
