Haha. So a cruiser, like a Harley or equivalent? They are great for getting around quickly, plus AWESOME on fuel! Just make sure you wear all the safety equipment, otherwise when (not if) you fall off, you're gonna have a VERY bad day!

Yeah, I'd choose Jap over anything else, and Harley's are just gay. A VTR359 or CBF250 would be a good cruiser though. I'm more of a Sportsbike fan, so I was thinking CBR250 or GPX250 until this Aprilia came up, so I decided to change countries to Italy. Will definately go back to Japan once I have my full license though.

There's nothing wrong with the Italian or German, bikes. Just steer clear from American shit.
I have a couple of mates who are bikies, and another who owned one and they have a saying, "a Harley always leaves its mark". They leak like sieves.
Apart from sounding like shit, they are good for fuck all.

To me, they just look pretty (all chrome, annoyingly hard to clean), loud (I like my hearing, dont want to lose it) and slow!! Add in the unreliability and yeah, no thanks.
I've heard that "soul" is Italian for unreliability, which makes me a bit worried about the Aprilia, but I'm sure I'll live.

get cheap reliable 250, use for year-save up and go get a bike that you really want on ya open license.
i had a gpx used it everyday, so cheap to run and service-and got good money for when i sold it, since they are such a popular choice.

Yeah, if the Aprilia doesn't work out I'll go for a newer Ninja instead. Or if I don't like it, I'll sell it and get a Ninja. Or a CBR250, something along those lines. Like you said, it's only for a year. Then I can get a 600 or 1000 something.
Think I need to break the news to my parents first

Wouldn´t waste time with a Ninja man. They are really nice bikes but they aren´t cheap, no point spending big money on a bike youre only going to have for a year.
As Tom said, get something cheap that won´t break down on you, then in a year spend big and get something really nice.

Thing is, a 2nd hand Ninja can be sold for the same price I bought it for. So can the Aprilia. A year is a long time, thats the problem

You won´t get the money back for it dude, especially if you use it as your daily instead of driving the Skyline.
Buy a decent reliable bike for a grand, doesn´t matter if you do 20000kms on it in that year, you wont lose much money. People are always looking for cheap bikes.

Hmmm. I'll have to do some research into it. Thing is, I cant own something I'm not proud of. Thats why I got the NA 33 as my first car, cos it LOOKED fast and I was proud of it. But I'll definately keep that in mind, aye.
When are you getting your bike/license?

its really up to you bro, do what you want, probably the best thing is to ask ya parents.
but keep in mind, being a first bike there is a high change of droppage.

This too ^
Better get permission from your mummy and daddy though Rhys
I dunno when I´m getting mine... When I have the money lol. I´m still too focused on spending money on the Skyline, I can´t save for a bike. So no idea haha.
