All i can do at this stage is wait, Ben goes to Japan on the 4th of April, and i expect it will take him a few weeks to find the half cut. Then he has to get it shipped back here, which will probably also take a few weeks. I'm expecting it to be done around end of April, start of May. Chances are it won't be done until about mid to late May though
In the mean time, i'm doing a Lachlan and being on the lookout for things to buy for it before i even get it Really hoping i don't need a new clutch because then i have about a grand to spend on other things. Although Clint (same guy i got the intercooler and things off) has quoted me $600 delivered for an Exedy Sports Tuff heavy duty clutch kit, so if i do need a new clutch then atleast it won't break the bank.

I just dunno what other type of clutch the previous owner would have installed if it is a heavy duty clutch. If the HD sports tuff clutch from Exedy can handle the power and that is their lowest rated clutch, what other clutch could be in my car? Ah well, doesn't really matter, i'm setting the money for the clutch kit aside in case i do need it.

I imagine i will, so i'm currently budgeting to include the clutch kit.

You could still have the stock O.E.M Clutch in as I did. When I got my clutch replaced Xspeed told me that parts of my clutched had "sheared" off coz it couldn't handle the power. But at least you have budgeted for the new clutch already and you can get it for cheap. It will be good when you get the swap done.

It feels heavier than a stock R33 GTR clutch though. No way a stock GT clutch would be heavier than a GTR clutch, so it has to be aftermarket. The previous owner did say it had an aftermarket heavy duty clutch, i just have no idea what kind
On that note, my current gearbox is an RB20DET with a push type clutch. I need a clutch for an RB25DET with pull type clutch. Dunno why i didn't think of that earlier lol, but there goes my last hopes of not needing to replace the clutch.
So i have decided to get an Exedy Cushion Button clutch, as i have been told an Exedy Heavy Duty will not be able to handle my final power target.

I'm basically purchasing a new car lol. Everything about it is going to be different, i imagine it will be quite a shock. Can't wait for it to get done now Ben is going to Japan on Sunday, looking forward to hearing from him
Clint also said he can help me out if i get stuck with anything, offered to give me some stock dump/front pipes off an R34 GTT for free if KYP aren't supplying them. Great bloke, will be purchasing all my parts off him in the future

I'm running 10 on LOW boost, and you don't want to go any lower. If you're worried about fuel consumption, just stay off boost??
Clint sounds like a fantastic bloke! I'm definately looking into him when i need some parts!

And R34's are dual stage, so standard has 5psi in low rev stages, then 7psi in the higher rpm. So i'm using the lowest possible setting, which is 5psi

I know about the twin stage boost control, most people ground it off to run 7psi at all times. See how you go though, you'll probably find that when overtaking someone or pulling out into traffic, you'll want the extra power and you'll raise it!!!

What do you think i should do with my gauges? Should i disconnect them all and get rid of my wiring, or should i just let KYP worry about everything? Because they will be installing the GTT center gauge pod, they will have to rewire everything anyway...
