Luke, remove the turbo yourself. It tool Nic and I about 2-3 hours to take Jess's turbo off, and about 2 hours to take my mates turbo off his RB25. Its not too difficult, and saves plenty of money!

hey martin how did you go in the end? sorted or still some issues?
just wondering because i was looking into getting a highflow done by stao aswell. did you get the kai high flow one? also what did you end up paying with delivery and everything if ya dont mind me asking?
i was looking into the "powered up" option ("500hp".. or 390rwhp realisticly), otherwise the same one you have, in which case ill need an r34 op6 turbine housing yeah?
..im a little stumped right now, ive been quoted $2500 from autoworx to pull out my turbo, take it to get highflowed somewhere and then re-install my turbo. thats it, no tuning or anything. i asked stao how much he would charge if i were to take my car to their place in victoria, and this is what he said;
Hi Luke:
Thats very expensive. We charge $250 to remove and install a high flowed turbo. Its only 3 hours work. High flow charge is $960. So total is $1210 high flowed and installed.
Regards
Stao
2.5k?! seriously i think all u ppl with highflow turbos are wasting ur money. they generally cost more/the same as a Garrett and and ive never seen one with over 350rwhp!
do u know how many bolts hold ur turbo on? 4! + 2 bolts for the dump pipe!
go to a performance shop that DOESNT produce or sell highflow turbos and they will tell u exactly what i just did. Then they will tell u to go out and buy either a gt35r or gt30, proven reliable and good hp turbos
ive spoken to the bloke from autoworx a few times, as he wants to do the same engine as mine in his r32 and he wants to use a gt35r.. or T04Z

i thought it was the other way round, garrett being more expensive and needing extra modification/parts to hook everything up properly? ofcourse id rather a garrett over a highflow any day, but it seems easier to highflow, pretty much a straight up swap over and no hassles.
taking the turbo out probably is easy enough to do, just it had to go to autoworx anyway for warranty purposes.
can i ask what setup you're running atm? i could get hold of a td06g on the cheap, a bit big i think for an rb25, would need a highmount manifold and all sorts of shit for that sucker though.
EDIT: just noticed the massive rb25/30 build thread you have haha, nice.
