Hmm still weird...
He would fix it for free (well I think he would anyway, cause the fuel comsumption is just shit - don't want to be thrashing it everywhere)

Yeh well if John can check my tune for me then he might be able to figure out what is wrong and then I can just take it straight to Andrew to get it fixed. Cos if Andrew is busy and doesn't have time to be sorting out my tune then it probably isn't going to get done properly again.

No he doesn't, he did strike me as a really good bloke. But fact is he is also really busy, so if I can save him some of the work then he may be able to do a better job... can't hurt anyway.

Right well, all issues fixed. Car made 268rwhp @13.6psi, but I am an idiot and forgot to get a printout of the dyno chart so I can't update my power figures thread :(

Anyway, I am looking forward to Powercruise this weekend and will be spending all of tomorrow getting the car ready. I have been doing a fair bit of research into race fuels in the last couple of days, and today I purchased the necessary things to be running 107RON fuel for the weekend :D Little bit nervous about how it is going to go, but all research points to go so I'm gonna go through with it. Will be very careful initially, gonna spend some time tomorrow setting up my NIStune software so that I can monitor all the parameters from first start up with the new fuel, all the way to Barbagello, make sure it isn't knocking.

Costs about $100 a tank :( So clearly not for daily driving, only going to use it for Powercruise and see how it goes

Is it really going to do much though? Without adjusting the timing?

Not as much as it would do if I did adjust the timing and boost, but there is apparently a noticeable gain. It's more of an octane booster than a horsepower booster, will make it safer in the top end and a bit punchier in the mid-range. Andrew did advance the timing a bit yesterday, so I will feel the benefits there.

tbh i think it's a waste of money if i had your car.
but if you have money and want to do it go ahead, let us know how it goes.

Atually owner's manual for pretty much any high performance car will specify 96 or higher.

Haha yess, and the higher the better.

James I don't track my car, I wouldn't know if it pings when you thrash it. I'm gonna be pushing my car hard, the higher octane fuel will make it safer. I definitely wouldn't use this stuff on the street when I'm just driving around, but when I'm giving it hell then I would like the extra octane to protect my engine.

Like said, if you were running 3 or 4 times the hp I'd understand....
I bashed my 32GTR around the skid pan and it was perfect....

You had a forged motor dude! lol. This fuel is effectively a knock reducer. So I can make more power without causing detonation.

No, I think its silly cause its tuned specifically for BP98, so theres no real chance of it dying cause of the fuel you put in it =/
