That's the thing, the connection has to be good because the timer turns on and starts counting down. If the connection to the ignition was dodgy then the timer wouldn't be getting power.
Thanks for the brain storming though man

I understand how you feel though, in my drivers side footwell under the steering wheel it's pretty crazy and i only have an immobiliser.
I wouldn't know where to start if some shit when haywire.
Remove alarm completely and test turbo timer?

Turbo timer just delays the signal. Supplies 12v from somewhere else. Alarm arms when that 12v is broken. May have got a fuked timer

Turbo timers are stupid pieces of crap and are merely wank factor. It's not like you're tracking it every single day and needing to be out of your car for 1 minute for it to idle down. Normal driving doesn't constitute the need for a turbo timer.
The only time you need it is if you're boosting around everywhere and you need it to cool down before leaving it parked. The best thing to do is fuck it off, and if you're driving around on high boost for long periods of time, just allow a minute of normal driving before reaching your destination where you are intending to leave the car.
Mine - 28psi on the track, the usual occasional boosting on the streets, no turbo timer, allow for a minute of normal driving before shutdown, 4 years, no issues.
Don't get caught up in the need for one man, there is none.

Yeh I see where you're coming from Allen, but I disagree. My mates turbo in his R32 had coked oil around the shaft because he never let his car idle. The oil baked around the center cartridge and blocked his oil lines, causing his turbo to fail. And his car is a daily driver, he doesn't track it at all and he doesn't drive it like he is on a track either, just boosts it every now and again.
Tom works on trucks everyday (diesel mechanic), says he has had to replace a few turbos that have shat themselves after they built up oil deposits because the driver never let it idle.
Seen too much first hand evidence as to why turbo timers are a good idea to just ignore it all and go by what is essentially theory.
Anyway, in the process of installing my fuel pump, my turbo timer is now working. Don't understand, but I'm not gonna question it lol. I think it is because we disconnected my battery, which would have reset my ecu. So I have a feeling that it had something to do with the ecu.

That says it all. As long as you're mindful of what you need to do, you'll be right.the driver never let it idle.

martin just likes things that go beep, have flashy lights and look shiny
Turn his key and lights start flashing, things go beep, gauges go nuts, LED screens light up everywhere, and now fuel pump screams
