I'm not paying no fine. Probably not run a decat on a daily though, but the 33 is losing it's cat when it gets a new exhaust :)
Each to their own though.

Lol I just don't see the point. A good quality highflow cat will only have a 4-5hp difference between a gutted cat, you can't even feel that. Not worth the stained paint and damage to the environment.

But yeh, this is one thing I just agree with the laws on, cars should have catalytic converters.

My NA was catless and never stained the bumper. Or my mates Celica. And it's not for the power, more the flames and sound

Not to mention the up to $10k fine if caught.

i dont get that, u buy a car with it, u tellig me now everyone who buys a car should inspect the cat converter?

also in performance cars they have a tendancy to not last a great deal of time

my dad was told by a young cop once that he needed cat convertors on his car.

pitty that you dont need them for straight LPG cars

my car didnt come with cats. so technically i would be a modification to put them in. and cops wont like me modifying my car :P

It's like any car you buy. The onus is on the purchaser to ensure that what they are buying conforms to standards. It's the same thing if you buy an encumbered vehicle. Ignorance won't help you get it back, you still have to bend over and grab your ankles because complaining that you didn't know is a pathetic defense. If you buy a car with a gutted cat, then you should have had it inspected first. Like I stated, the onus is on the purchaser.
I've read about people copping fines for running with no cat. If you want to give it a go and get away with it, kudos. But if you end up getting busted for it, suck it up and take it, you're aware it's illegal and you took the chance.
Each to their own but if someone doesn't want to chance it, that's their choice to make.

Lots ^ lol.

BC Racing coilovers installed with the help of Nic and my dad (they did everything I did nothing lol, thanks guys :D), still need to set pre load and damper which I think is gonna be a bitch  For some reason the front of the car is sitting higher than it was with the stock springs though... Gonna go outside and lower that now.

Also installed slotted rotors on the back, braided brake lines all round, Brembo calipers (after completely forgetting about them and repainting my old calipers  ) all new Motul Dot 5.1 brake fluid, new brake pads on the back (rear Brembo's didn't come with any), new strut bar, silicon radiator hose will go in tomorrow, as will the engine cover once I've painted it.

Mmm I would be running a cat!
Pits did an emmissions test on my rexy, they hold a probe in the exhaust and test it...
Martin, I hope you bought walbro and not bosch. A few people have been complaining about the noise from the 04x's on hot days.
They dont seem to like restrictive fuel systems. Rather just run flat out instead.
Have you tried JWS for seat rails? they just got a few containers come in.

Yeh dude, Walbro 550hp in-tanke fuel pump. Didn't want Bosche because of the noise. Would have liked Tomei but couldn't find any for a good price at the time.

What's JWS? Japanese Wholesale?

Walbro is the way to go anyway, nice choice.
Yeah jap wholesale in wangara.
might be an idea to go and have a look, theres a few shops around there now, nice one just off gnangara rd near that big roundabout with a evo 8, rx7 fd and a walkinshaw ss vk out the front today, all track cars, might be worth a shot.
Straight accross the road there is another one too...
On the same street as jap wholesale is parts west..
I know maximum motorsports have custom rails as they are always changing shit in their targa cars... maybe try them, mms: 92497444
Thats all i got!

Thanks dude, I think I've found some though. Some guy saw my thread on SAU and is offering me his never used Recaro rails to suit my car for $220. Getting measurements off him tonight, if they line up then I'm getting them.

Don't have any pictures of how the car sits just yet, was dark last night when we finished and I had to leave for uni at unholy hours this morning. Very impressed with the quality of the coilovers, I would definitely recommend BC Racing to anyone looking for good suspension without having to lop off an arm.

How my braided lines sit and look:

How my new Brembo calipers sit, they juuuuust didn't clear the wheels:

Yeh EBC greens. They're not noisy at all?

Don't really care what the calipers are, they brake a shit load better than my old brakes!

Cant say I liked my greens.
Didnt notice any difference over bendix ultimates.
Project MU are amazing tho,
What sort of driving are you aiming for?
I see your coilover springs are set fairly soft, plus organic clutch so im guessing straight line with normal street duties?
Wouldnt lower your car too much, you will need a roll centre kit or its going to handle like poo if you do.
