Pick up the phone and call.
I have nothing but respect for JPC and Danny knows his shit.
If he can fit you in, call KYP, tell them to eat the corn out of your shit, grab your stuff and give it to someone who gives a fuck. They have fucked you around long enough now.
Everyone else can take note of the piss poor performance of this mob.

Is all i needed. Will contact him, see what he has to say.
I have also emailed KYP asking what is going on. Need to get this done, can't keep playing the nice guy and waiting around.
Thanks for your input Allen and James

Yeh i have no doubt they are a good workshop, i have seen another R34 that has had the exact same thing done as i'm getting, and it was a brilliant job. My preference would be for them to do the work, but if they won't do it soon then i will have to go elsewhere

Ok, speak of the devil lol. KYP just contacted me and have apologized for the delay, they say there has been a backlog of cars at their workshop and their last shipment has taken longer to go through customs than it usually would. They did not want to call me to book my car in, in case something happened and they weren't able to fit me in anymore.
But they have said that my half cut has arrived at the workshop, and Ben has already started pulling everything out of it. Adrian said they will try to fit me in either next week or the week after, which suits me as it means i can get my exams out of the way first.
So I think i am just going to wait for them to call me instead of going ahead with anything else, as KYP have looked after me but for some very poor communication. Danny from JPC has been quite helpful as well, but i doubt he will be able to fit me in any sooner and it would be hard for me to get the half cut and my car transported to JPC. Not too mention he is a bit more expensive... If KYP could not fit me in before July then i would be taking my car elsewhere, but i am happy to give them the benefit of the doubt and continue with things as planned.

I will wait until my conversion is completed to pass judgment on them... So far they have been really good to me save for some poor communication. I would have appreciated being told about the hold up in quarantine with my half cut, and any other developments, but as you said Rhys they are hardly going to drop everything for my conversion and they are always very busy, so i can hardly expect them to be emailing me every detail.

Spot on so far guys ^ Lol, good thing I can take this all with a pinch of salt, all part of the experience for me. Good things are worth waiting for.
Anyway, suppose seeing as this is my build thread, I should update on how it's going
Upon last contact, which was on Tuesday, KYP told me the engine had been removed from my car and they were in the process of removing the engine from the halfcut. So at the current rate they are working at, by now they may have undone another bolt or two somewhere.
In the mean time, I'll go take some pictures of all the parts I have collected while waiting for the conversion, so this is probably where the actual build part of the thread starts lol. Will post again soon with pics.

That's an absolutely fucking shithouse effort man and I wouldn't be happy in the slightest.
When we did the conversion for Brett's 20-26 it took us 2 weekends at a slow steady pace with lots of fucking around in between. That equates to 4 days.
This entailed a complete front end conversion (engine, gearbox, subframe), a complete rewiring from the dash forward, and a few other things in between. She started first flick of the key.
No, I wouldn't be happy and all I can say is that you're either a VERY patient person or a sap.
I hope others reading the drama with this conversion don't take lightly the lack of attention that is being dedicated to your build by KYP. I think they're taking advantage of your easy going nature.
Maybe this could share some light on things: http://www.westcoast...t978-p8624.html

I imagine you're right Allen. This is pretty much why I do all the work on my car myself. I thought it would be wiser and quicker to get somebody in the know to do something this major, but looking back I do wish I had done it myself.
It is safe to say that once I get my car back I will not be going back to KYP, they are a fucking joke. I honestly don't understand why they would take so long to do this conversion, surely once my car is in there it is taking up their time and space and they would want to get it out of there as soon as possible so that they can get my money and get the next car in? I have no doubt that they could do this conversion in a weekend, they have done the exact same thing to two cars before mine... Please everyone reading, do take note.

Ok well with any luck I am finally nearing the end of this nightmare. Just received a reply from KYP as to when my car will be ready; I have been told my car is up and running with all the new gear, Ben is just sorting out the last of the wiring and then it will be done. Why that is going to take more than 3 days I have no idea, but in any case it should finally be done early next week. So with any luck, the car should finally be done within the next 3 months
Apparently my chinese branded intercooler caused a bit of problems for them lol, so will have to see what went on there. Was told when I bought the thing that it was an exact copy of a Greddy M-Spec intercooler, so maybe it's the piping that is poorly designed and caused problems or something, I don't know.

About time there's some progress! I can change an engine by myself without any experience in a "few days". Fuck knows what's wrong with them.
Glad it's almost done mate. You'll be boosting around Perth and getting hoonlawed in no time!!

Ok, well it turns out that I have maybe been jumping the gun a bit, the problems caused have not really been KYP's fault. I went to see the car today, they have done an amazing job. I am very very happy.
Ben went through a couple of the problems with me, the main one being that the intercooler I supplied them with was not made for my car. Clint gave me the wrong one, so they had to do a lot of messing around to make it fit and all the piping is custom made for my car.
They also sorted out what could have been a very serious problem. The person that converted my NA brakes to turbo model brakes seriously fucked up the rear. The rear wheels were only being held on by the wheel bearing hub nut. Which is actually what caused my problems the other month on Socs' cruise. So they have fixed that for me.
And lastly, somebody had hacked up my cars wiring loom, which meant that they could not use it to get the job done by the people they usually get to do it. So they had to call in a favour from the owner of C-Red to come and do a completely custom wiring job for me.
So all in all I'm no longer pissed off with them, they have done a very good job. Perhaps a little bit slow, but I did not want a rushed job. I am still a bit annoyed with how they messed me around getting the car in there, and that they took so long to get started on it. But other than that... Very impressed.

Nah man, it still doesn't excuse the fucking around and lack of communication. How long have you been waiting for since you put down your deposit? That answer says it all.
Jeff Ash from C-Red is one of the guys I highly recommend to all who ask to be pointed in the right direction when wanting a guru. The fact that they couldn't solve the wiring issue themselves also leaves a big question in my mind.

Yeh I haven't completely forgiven them, they have fucked me around a lot. But I put my deposit down 2 weeks before Ben went to Japan, and then it took awhile for the shipment to get here. I'm more annoyed about the time that it took for them to get me into the shop once the shipment had arrived.
Jeff and Ben are good mates, so they actually do a lot of work for each other. Ben has a lot to do with what goes on at C-Red, and Jeff has a lot to do with what goes on at KYP. In fact when I first went in to KYP to talk about my options, Jeff was there too and him and Ben were talking about who would be able to fit me in sooner, KYP or C-Red. Ben is quite open about the fact that Jeff is a lot better than they are with wiring.
All in all, yeh it doesn't excuse them from how they have messed me around. But looking at the bigger picture, I am very happy with the job that they have done and that is the important thing. I would much rather have waited 5 months and got a really good job done, than have it completed in a week and constantly be going back every 2 weeks for the next year to fix little problems.
Rhys, I don't know hey... Luckily they caught it though, that could have ended tragically.
