Lol yeh i looked at that package James, but $4600 without gearbox, means by the time i get the gearbox and get it all installed im looking at probably 8-9K, which is 3-4K over my budget

Have you thought about looking at Jap wreckers and also at Pickles Auctions for Skylines that have been written off? You prob could pick one up from there for cheap....Thats if there is one there.

Lol yeh ive tried a lot of places, eBay so far had the cheapest package, $1800 for a 34 GTT half cut. But im really skeptical buying off ebay, even though it is a shop and the guy has 100% positive feedback. In the description of the engine he said R34 GTT RB20DET So it could be that he made a mistake, or it is bogus which is what my gut is telling me considering the price...
But anyway, so far the cheapest thing seems to be to let KYP do everything. Ben said it would cost me around $4400 for the engine swap, which is within my $5000 budget. Ill try to go for a drive and see him sometime in the next week, talk to him in person and see what he reckons

Good Idea with goin with KYP. You do know that with Ebay if you pay with Paypal they will insure you for $20000. so if it is bogus and the seller wont accept a return they will deduct the money from the seller and give it back to you coz thats what happened with me when some bitch tried to rip me off $850 for a phone. Also check to see what the refund terms are etc and perhaps try contacting the seller to see if it is a RB25Det

KYP are so far the only workshop that is even keen to touch my car lol. No one else has even got in touch with me except for Cypher Industries, and they said i could be expecting to see a bill of around $10000. I was like pffft fuck that lol, all i want is a stock engine and gearbox. Ben at least seemed keen to chat with me about my options, as well as giving me a realistic quote.
I contacted the seller and he said it is an RB20 non turbo. Even though the picture clearly shows the engine cover which says "Neo 6 2500 twin cam turbo" lol. And he says in his description: engine comes with everything including gearbox, turbo, manifold, wiring loom, ecu, etc. You would THINK, that if a person was trying to scam someone, they would at least try to know what they are trying to sell lol.

Bahaha thats the funniest shit. I love it when people lie about shit than cant even remember the lie afterwards. Maybe you should report him to ebay as a scam.
As regards to your engine.... seriously try Xspeed. I think they did a good job this time on my Skyline and they were fair with the price. Besides what do you have to lose by asking them?

Got nothing to lose, im trying everywhere Just that so far, KYP have by far been the most helpful which makes me feel comfortable about going to them.
I looked at X-Speeds website but they didn't say they had anything in terms of half cuts, engines or gearboxes...

Im gonna go in to KYP and talk to Ben next week sometime. Hopefully he can break it down for me a bit better of what i need. Im still not sure whether i should keep looking for a R34 half cut or just use an R33 half cut, but yeh, ill have a chat with him and find out my cheapest option. I'd love the Neo engine, but if its gonna cost me $2000 more then i won't bother.
And maybe after talking to him and shit i can put down a deposit on something he has there, or i can just keep looking and saving... At this rate without a job, its gonna take me 12 months to get the money

id say sell the car and buy a gtt or go the new motor but if u must and cant afford it atm,
have seen:
stock ic kit $150-250ish
(ebay fmic kit -$400)
stock manifold -$150 max
stock turbo with dump n front pipe -$300
ebay boost controller $60
id also look into chipped ecu n bigger fuel pump
run low boost, in mean time save ur money n then just buy a motor without turbo etc.
