So as you all know I went and got myself a 1989 Toyota Cressida MX83 with a 7MGE twin cam.... stock as an effing rock!!!! Only set me back $3,300 and eventually will have it running a JZX90 1J....
Have had the new toy for three days and so far have:
- removed the black sticky stripes around the whole car
- debadged and removed the badge marks
- removed the chrome grandpa strips around the wheel arches
- removed the stock bus spec steering wheel and replaced with a cheap as chips auto pro special Autotechnica 'sports' wheel and boss kit
This week, will be organising:
- lowering courtesy of Ian Diffen
- full catback exhaust... still deciding who to do it through.. will be getting quotes
- sound system... already have splits in the front, looking at possibly 6x9's in the back and amp/sub will follow towards the end of the conversion (so in like 2020 lol)
- ripping out the facia and getting a custom facia/pocket installed
- rims... want dish but still undecided on what to get due to the offset on cressida's being 25+ on stockers but anything bigger changes the offset to 35-40+ and I don't want camber issues.... still don't know all the info on this but will be milking more info off my cressida guru asap!
Then it's 2 min noodles for a good few months while saving for the 1J half cut....
Will post pics up of the progress shortly..

Mel, not sure if the camber issues that plague Skylines affect Cressidas that much, my mate's was lowered and didnt have an issue, but if you do, just grab some camber arms for it. Nice and cheap.
6x9s should only be used when you dont have a sub, otherwise they put out a slightly different frequency to the sub, and it all sounds like arse. Also sub and amp packages are cheap as chips, so you may as well get one now! You cant cruise quickly, so you may as well cruise in style
Quit smoking and use the money for the engine! You've done it before, you know you can doo it

+1, Give up the smoking!!
Spot on with the 6x9's as well Rhys, they should only be used in place of a sub. Mel go some 6.5"s in the back. Decent amp and sub and it will sound win
I recommend this place for anything sound: https://www.ryda.com.au/
Thats where i got my speakers from and they are so quality! Only paid $70 for $250 rrp Fusion speakers
