For those of you who own a late model Hilux, you will know that it has an annoying beeper hidden in the dash
that can drive you crazy. You can't even have the stereo on and have the door open while working outside without
beep, beep, beep, beep, Arrrggh !!!
So where does it hide ? Lets have a look.
1. Locate and remove the plastic phillips screw at the top of the dash surround.
2. There is a plastic bezel that comes out too.
3. Remove the dash surround. You will have to drop the steering column to its lowest height
4. 3 phillips screws hold the instrument cluster in, remove them.
5. Pull the instrument cluster out and flip it over. You will see a plug and two screws.
Unplug the harness and remove the two screws.
6. With the back cover removed we can see the little piezoelectric beeper.
It can be quietened by putting tape or bluetak over the hole. It can be removed by pliers easily too.
Fitment is the reverse of removal.
* The beeper is a warning device and modification is at your responsibility.

Duct tape is like the force, it has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together.

What you did there is a very long process.
There is a shorter way of disabling it by using ignition and odometer button.
(1)switch to ignition on(leave you foot off the
brake).cycle your trip reset knob until you it reads odo. turn the
ignition back off. wait a couple of seconds
(2) make sure seat belt is not fastened
(3)switch the ignition back on ,do not start the car(leave your foot off
the brake) as soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the
trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
(4)keep your finger on the trip reset knob. fasten your seat belt, as
soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the odo display go
from xxxx ks to "b-on". at that time take your finger off the trip
reset
knob and press it again. it should cycle to "b-off". you should be all
set turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

Thanks a million!!
I have just followed your instructions on my Hilux workmate 2007 and it worked like a charm.
You little Ripper!!!
No more door buzzer. Interior light still works and headlights buzz when left on and keys out.
Thanks Vincent!!! I owe you a beer!
