Hey guys
I'm looking to get a team together for the BHP Billiton Rotary Ramble.

http://www.rotaryramble.com/

Armed with a map, clue sheet and mobile phone, teams of 2-6 BHP Billiton Ramblers’ will attempt to solve challenges at checkpoints located at well-known landmarks and secret locations across the City of Perth. On October 9th teams will have four hours to crack coded clues and solve cryptic problems involving trivia, history, observation and some light physical endeavors while having lots and lots of fun!

Teams of up to 6 people are $150. Funds raised will benefit Telethon and Australian Rotary Health.

So if we get 6 people its only $25 each and there are prizes to be won!

If anyone is interested in doing this then let me know :D

If there is more than 6 people then we could always organise 2 teams
So if we can get 6 people its only $25 e

Always remember that I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me. An alcoholic is someone you don't like who drinks as much as you do. Don't drink and drive, you might hit a bump and spill your drink. You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on. Stay busy, get plenty of exercise, and don't drink too much. Then again, don't drink too little. Time is never wasted when you're wasted all the time. One reason I don't drink is that I want to know when I am having a good time. A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine, except that on a day without sunshine you can still get drunk. I stopped drinking, but only when I sleep. This is one of the disadvantages of wine: it makes a man mistake words for thought. Cigarettes and coffee: an alcoholic's best friend !!!! When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading. I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they always worked for me. The consumption of alcohol may cause pregnancy. A man who exposes himself when he is intoxicated, has not the art of getting drunk. A bartender is just a pharmacist with a limited inventory. I drink to forget I drink. Alcohol is necessary for a man so that he can have a good opinion of himself, undisturbed be the facts. Once, during Prohibition, I was forced to live for days on nothing but food and water. The whole world is about three drinks behind. I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food.

On the Day. Let’s get to the nitty gritty. Here's how it will all go down, Sunday, 9 October, 2011!

Make sure your team captain’s mobile phone is fully charged and has sufficient credit – and you’re ready to Ramble!

Start: 10.00am – 12.00pm
Ramble Start – Your team will arrive at FORREST PLACE  10 minutes before your allotted start time.

Text and go! – Teams will queue in the Ramble start zone minutes before their nominated start time. When you hit the top of the queue at the Start Line, you’ll be see the instructions to SMS a special word to 0428RAMBLE (0428 766737). Prepare your mobile phone to SMS and only send the SMS when your Team is at the Start Line. Your 4 hours will begin! The first SMS you receive back will advise of your team’s first compulsory checkpoint. Head past the Start Line to collect your Ramble kit and from there you can start your Ramble.

Rambling: 10:00am – 4:30pm

Tricks to using your Ramble map and clue sheet – Your map of Perth won’t give anything away. It will only show grid lines, not locations of Ramble Checkpoints. Use this to help your team navigate their way around the city.

The clue sheet will be your best guide to Checkpoints. Here’s how it will work:

1.  The clue sheet will give teams a short, fun clue about the location of every Ramble Checkpoints. For example, if London Court is a checkpoint location, the clue may be “Little Britain, caught between Hay and St. George.”
2.  If you’re struggling to solve the clue, the grid reference for the checkpoint location, eg: the London Court, may be at B7 on the map. As a last resort, you can solve the clues by using these grid references to (hopefully) find the location.

Compulsory 1st Challenge – To start the day, your team’s first challenge will be to find your first compulsory checkpoint. This will have been text directly to your team captain’s mobile phone. Solve the compulsory challenge at this checkpoint then, using your map and clue sheet, your team has the freedom to determine which checkpoints they want to hit over the next four-hours! Keep in mind, checkpoints that are harder to get to will be worth more points! Strategy is the key at this point.

Transport Techniques – Ramblers will use their feet, TransPerth and CAT buses, escalators, lifts, steps and ramps to make their way around the city. There’s an element of strategy to using your map and clue sheet – remember, after the first compulsory checkpoint it becomes your team’s choice as to what method will be the best way to navigate the city. No taxis, cars, skateboards, roller blades, scooters or bikes are allowed and any team caught using them will be disqualified. If a member of your team uses a wheel chair, no problem as wheelchair friendly checkpoints will be noted on your clue sheet. Don’t forget, it’s not a race, so no running!

Checkpoint Challenges – As soon as you see a Ramble Checkpoint Desk (trust us, you won’t miss it – there’ll be Ramble Volunteers in bright coloured shirts there ready to help you), you’ll know you’ve located a checkpoint. A Ramble Volunteer will give your Team Captain a randomly selected Ramble Checkpoint Challenge card. But here’s the catch: even if you don’t like it, there will be no exchange of your Challenge card, and only one challenge attempt can be made per Checkpoint location.

Don’t despair; most of the Ramble Checkpoint Challenges have been set at a fun level, although some challenges will range in complexity from very easy to reasonably difficult. There will be different Ramble point ratings for harder challenges. This will be determined by our question setters depending on the challenge’s level of difficulty and the time it takes to complete it to make it fairer for all teams.

Each Checkpoint will contain varying challenge questions so teams may be solving different challenges at the same checkpoint, making it impossible to cheat or ask friends in other teams to help!

Once you’ve solved your challenge, SMS your multiple choice answer to 0428RAMBLE (0428 766737) and Ramble system will txt you back to tell you if you got the right answer, how many points you’ve just earned, your overall points score and how much time you have left to Ramble – it’s that easy! Now it’s your choice which checkpoint to head to next!

Rambling On – After you’ve solved your first compulsory Checkpoint, your team can put their heads together and decide Ramble Checkpoints to visit next. Whilst there is an element of luck, teams that work well together and uses strategy to create their plan of attack will get the most out of their Ramble challenges.

Prizes – There are lots of ways to win at the Ramble! The overall prize winning team will be selected at random from those teams which all start and complete the event. Prizes will also be awarded to the highest points scoring team and the craziest dressed team.

As the Ramble is a charity fundraiser, we are keen to reward the teams who go the extra mile to raise funds for charity. So there will be extra prizes for:

•Each team member from teams who raise $50 -$100 goes into the Bronze Prize Pool draw.
•Each team member from teams who raise $101 -$300 goes into the Silver Prize Pool draw.
•Each team member from teams who raise $300 or more will have the chance of winning prizes in the highly coveted Gold Prize Pool.

Join the Ramble Revelry Bash!

To finish up a great day, Ramblers are invited to head back to Forrest Place and celebrate with us! Live entertainment and fun and games will greet finished Ramblers. Prizes will be awarded to Ramble winners and random Ramble teams! Remember, prizes will only be awarded when all Ramble teams have finished (around 4.30pm).
