Hi guys, so this morning a got a pretty bloody big bolt straight through my tire, I'm taking the tire up tonight to see if it is able to be plugged. I just want an opinion: would it be worth plugging the tire when they need replacing over the next coming months or should i just cut my loses and replace them now? Just not really sure how well plugging the hole will work with the tires on legal limit. Thanks

lol cut loses now and go new.
if it were a new tire that would shit ya to tears to get a nail/tec screw or bolt through it but better off plugging it if it were a new one

Only cost $30-40 to plug it. Just keep in mind they're no good for high speeds - so if you plug it, don't be doing any top speed runs

I'd plug them, never had an issue with plugging a puncture before.
When you say bolt... Do you mean screw? Or an actual bolt?

its about 2cm diameter and so big that it stopped at my rim on the interior, so it hangs out about 3cm from my tire. its huge

In that case, you'll probably need to replace it. Not sure if they can plug a hole that big.

yeah just got the verdict, they cant fix it its too big. So I'm just going to go for broke and get them all replaced and ask to keep the rear tires to put on for skidpan/track days

yer should of, tho i was more worried about getting to where i needed to go.
the nail went through the bottom of tyre, then when it was flat went through side wall aswell. then when the tyre rotated to the top it was pulled through.
Looked deadly

That doesn't sound very big. The spanner I pulled out of a customer's tyre, now THAT was big
