ur sefest bet will be to buy a running non registered VS/VR
say u pick up an ok condition, running, unregistered VR for $500-$600.
you still need to go buy new coolant for $50-$70 and new oil & oil filter for $40-$50, new spark plugs $25, and other stuff always comes up when ur doing an engine swap
then sell the car for what 1-1.5kish ? ..

What he's saying is with the unrego'd car, you can actually see it running. An engine can look perfect, but without hearing it run or stripping it down completely there is no way of being sure its good.

Our Parts chick just crashed her VP V6. I can convince her to sell it to you if you want that motor? Still driveable, but front and rear damage not worth fixing.

Socs, I know the VP doesnt have the Ecotec motor. It runs the same motor as the VN and the VR.
Mikey, has you're been converted to an Ecotec then? Cos the VS's run the Ecotecs.
