howdy, i'm just trying to figure out which ISP is the best, fastest, etc

i got one of those virgin mobile broadband sticks with about 4gb/month but the issue is i have full signal but im only getting 0.00kbs - 25kbps (mostly 0.00) which is hell shit and slow

i rang virgin a week ago to ask wtf is going on and they said "dunno maybe its a congested area, get a laptop and drive down the street, see if that works then call us back"

im gona pull the pin on this shit, who is a good company to go with

For wireless, 100% Telstra.
For home internet, IInet has the best deals, and good speeds.

Agreed with telstra having the best wireless. unfortunately they hold the bunny on that one so they charge like wounded bulls.
For Landline home use... Westnet is our pick of the bunch mostly due to their unbeatable customer support. Brett is a Westnet agent if you want any advice you can PM him.

Its the little things in life that count.

iinet let me down alot in the past year and telstra have alot of new home bundles for phone + internet
their new internet plans are actually pretty decent and depending on what you are going to be using your internet for, they rival iinet
im currently with telstra and i am getting better speed/more downloads then i was with iinet for around the same price

Forget wireless. Unsecured and absolutely useless for having a stable connection. Land line ADSL2+
all the way. Westnet is my choice of ISP. As their slogan say's " It's our service that set's us apart" and that is so very true. When you call them, your speaking to an Aussie and not some fucktard that can't even understand english or let alone speak it.

BTW WCC lives on a westnet internet connection and how good does that work for everyone? Forget the rest, westnet is the best.

WESTNET!!! haha maybe because i work there ... hahaha
nah seriously, Telstra is shocking, their customer service is far from satisfactory, they have the highest percentage of
And don't believe the whole 'unlimited downloads' bull that other ISP's put out, because its not possible.. read the fine print.
Then there is wireless, which just sucks cause of air traffic, weather and your actual USB drive.

You will find Westnet an amazing company to be with, i have been before I even worked here. Straight talking, australian, good plans, fantastic support (24/7), fast connection, good resolution of issues and they actually listen to you!

13 19 60 ;) u wont regret it haha

i emailed virgin again as i was sick of speaking to those ppl over in india or phillipeans or wherever. they replied with all this useless info which contradicts what they said last time i rang.
according to them the best signal to get is HSDPA - which is what ive got.. and is utterly useless.

now i'll spend 30mins trying to load google so i can check westnet plans

cheers for the info, ive never even heard of westnet before

We've been with iinet for god knows how long, since Dial Up was quick! Had a faulty BOB handset when we first got it, but all good now.

iinet owns westnet so the plans are pretty much the same. iinet does have a cape town call center, so i'd recommend westnet if you only want to talk to aussies
