This is just a thread for those who enjoy making plastic model kits, and wish to display their finished product.
I've been doing this since I was 10 and a lot have gone to the graveyard due to being within the reach of children over the years, but that's fine because if I was to have kept every one I've made in the past 35 years, I would need an entire room to display them.
So here's a compilation of a few that I have done recently.
Ferrari F1 1:24
Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R 1:24
Toyota TS020 1:24
VeilSide R32 GT-R 1:24
Xanavi R34 GT-R Super GT 1:24
Puma, AV-8 Harrier, E-3C Hawkeye 1:144
I'm currently working on a Porsche Carrera GT.

That's a decent effort, Allen! I've made a few in my time, but none turned out that good. Don't have them now days.

Most big toy stores carry them, Toyworld, Toys R Us, etc. My favourite place to go is Stanbridges (LINK) in Mount Lawley, they have a lot of stuff but they're pricey.WOW! were do u get these from?
The VeilSide R32 had to come from Japan though, that's the only place I could find one.

I've done quite a few for other people as well.
My old man is into 4x4's and I have done a few for him such as Landcruisers and Pajeros.
Another dude I used to know is a shipwright and I did the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria for him. With the ships I swapped out the plastic sails and made some out of light canvas sheet for a better look, and hand spun ropes from cotton. The woodgrain effect was tedious but well worth the effort. It took me 6 months to do the 3 ships for him.
If anyone is interested in having a certain model made for them, let me know and I'll see what I can find for you. Just pay for the kit, and I'll supply the materials and labour. It keeps me entertained and I don't have to try and find somewhere to display it.

Here are a few of my models, Most are Tamiya because I find they have the most detail. The R31 GTS 4 door is the Japanese brand Fujimi and the underside is crap. I first started with the 34 GTR about 5 yrs ago. I still plan to finish off with an R30 and the R35 GTR...
This is another model I have started. Not really a plastic model because its all timber! Got it from my Folks for my bday in 2009. I have been on and off it over the last year. Still no where near finishing...

I prefer Tamiya models for the exact same reason. Revell and AMT are probably the worst, pieces don't fit and they have heaps of flashing.
Good work Gavin.

That Tamiya 35 is at Armadale Toyworld.
I was going to buy it but I'm still working on the Carrera GT.
