Well no dodgey rewiring on relays so that can't fail this time.

Try using these relay harnesses Nic:

I use them and they are an excellent substitute for spade teminals. You can get them at Dick Smith or Jaycar.

Cant remember if it was a 32 or 32 GTR, besides the point.

Allan, no need for harness now, the new motor plugged straight in, no rewiring connectors or relays.
Didn't get as much done tonight as I'd hoped. Ran loom into car and set that up.
Set up all the electronics (starter, earthing, gearbox wiring, etc), connected air con, power steering, fan, etc, drilled holes for intercooler.

Still need to sort out driveshaft, fit exhaust, and give it a much needed service and run in.

After 7 battery recharges, multiple electrical problems hunted down, alarm completely disarmed (causing ignition engagement issues) and a fuel delivery problem rectified, it STARTS, and RUNS.

Runs very smooth. After no more than 5 seconds into its first run the rpms were stable at 1500rpm and slowly dropped down.
It needs some attention, and a service, badly. Has a oil leak somewhere up the back at the bottom end which I'll have to find and sort out.

But it runs.

It spools up quick, and hard, and likes to blow off intercooler pipes.
Begins spool at mid 3's maybe, hard to say when full boost is on as (and what exactly full boost is with these turbo's) the boost gauge isnt hooked up yet and I wasn't going to run her up to 7k with kids in the street.

Same shit. Different day.

Running.
Battery is losing charge (finally rooted).
Motor is pissing out oil steady-mid rate. (still havent been able to isolate the problem to one point, infact located several leaks which I'm not happy about)
Fuel pissing out in boot. (possibly a rooted O-Ring, or cradle not seating properly)

Have gaskets + seals waiting for me at Nissan thanks to Rhys.
Sunroof motor has finally broken it's last legs, need to track down a new motor.

Things that I HAVE done:
Bled Brakes + Clutch (again, thank-you Rhys)
Adjusted coilover height, damper and camber on all corners (pics below)
Properly fitted and assembled C33 Laurel dash and some electronics.

Dardy rim fitment.

I love that dash! I reckon get the cracks plastic welded and spray it gloss black, that'd suit the look perfectly.
Well at least it runs (have you fixed the dying issues yet?). With any luck this is it, it'll be back on the road.

I'm hoping the dying out issue is air getting into the fuel as the fuel leaks in the boot, or the battery not holding charge.

As for the dash. Yeah I might fix that, but not too fussed. Once the woodgrain shit is clipped in properly you can barely see it.
There is a Laurel being wrecked here in Perth with a mint condition dash (both woodgrain, and the suede), I might grab that for the project Cefiro.
The dash goes straight in, I only needed to rewire one or two switches, and that was it. Too easy/such a good upgrade :D

Aaaaand Fixed.
Fuel issue was the a combination of the o-ring being flattened and the cradle not seated down properly.
The stutter on rpm climb was a loose intake pipe just after the intercooler (fucking no BoV setup stupid piece of crap keeps undoing hose clamps)

Now, just to do oil leak, and exhaust leak.
Get alarm checked out.
Re-do brakes.

Spirited driving - this weekend.

Finally, some fucking light. :D

What do you mean undoing hose clamps? You dont have any hose clamps on it!! Haha
Get a R32 intake hose with the BOV. That'll help a bit. I think Brett might have one laying around, but cant remember...

I've got a dardy one off the other Cefiro that I painted black, remember?

And as for hose clamps, it only doesnt have them on because when you close throttle body, 10PSI likes to find the weakest clamp and fuck it's shit up....makes no difference if they're on or not :P

Were getting a new water temp sensor today for it, then hopefully that allows it to run properly.
With any luck it'll be back on the road this week

Got this running properly mid-week.
Mate put on a BBQ on Friday afternoon, in a panic attempt to clean the backyard we threw everything and anything into the Cefiro and parked it up out the front. Being stupidly keen to finally drive it, I only emptied half of that shit (weigh the car down a bit, and having shit in the car makes me behave).

First corner, fuel pump fuse blew.....luckily the corner is on a hill, so, put it into neutral, and just rolled all the way back to my mate's driveway. Fixed the fuse, and THEN off again for a drive.

The turbo on this thing is HARDCORE.
My R32 motor in the other Cefiro would start singing at around 4000-4500 and see full boost by maybe 5500-6000.

THIS little fucker starts making noise @ 2500rpm seeing 10PSI by 4000rpm.
Also interesting to note that at 4000rpm or later, if cruising at a steady speed, the wastegate actuator will keep the turbo OFF boost (again even past 4000rpm) and only RE-opens when there's a sudden change in throttle. The actuator must feed off rising rate/flow somehow.
Either way, it's great. Virtually no lag, very responsive and once you're up to the speed you want to be at it cuts off, yet ready to spool up instantaneously when you need it.
Also some how does not flutter (at all) when throttle body closes even at 10PSI despite having no blow-off valve at all.....dunno how it does that, possible the ECU feeding a fuckload of fuel? Really don't know, but again, it does it's thing and does it well....it's not killing it's own turbo.

It has lag dude, as you'd expect from a 2L. Probably cos your not used to turbo cars, but it acts similar to most.
But it was so strange being in it then driving it last night!! I've never seen it complete before!! Hahahaha. Congrats! Now better get the wipers working again... :P
